Gestalt is Australia's foremost independent graphic novel publishing house.
Gestalt produces fine comics and graphic novels for international distribution, with an emphasis on strong narrative and stories of substance -- going above and beyond to ensure our books are presented with the highest production values possible.
We have an abiding love of the comics medium -- our passion is evident in every title we publish.
The company was officially founded in Applecross, Western Australia on the 1st July 2005 by Wolfgang Bylsma and Skye Ogden. Both Wolf and Skye had previously been involved in creating, editing and publishing underground and editorial comics in Australia since the early-1990s.
As well as working with established creators, we endeavour to encourage emerging writers and artists to find their voice.
However, production isn't the end of the process -- using resources such as this site we strive to assist our creators in finding the right audience for their work.

Wolfgang Bylsma - Managing Director
Wolfgang Bylsma has been operating his own creative agency since 1995. Having worked in tertiary education, web development and brand strategy, he co-founded Gestalt Publishing in 2005 where he continues to serve as Managing Director and Principal Editor.

Skye Ogden - Art Director
Skye Ogden graduated from the Curtin University of Technology in Perth, Western Australia in 2004. He began working as a Graphic Designer for various studios and maintains a steady stream of illustration work to satisfy his creativity.
He currently resides in Tokyo, Japan.

Gary Edwards - Assistant Editor
Gary joined Gestalt in 2009 as an intern and has since worked his way up to being a permanent member of the editorial team. With an abiding love for the medium and a past in both comics retail and web development, Gary brings a range of skills to the Gestalt team.
